What should I have in my kitchen?

Many of my patients are so confused about how to begin to design menus that are creative, easy enough, and taste great. I think the best way to begin this and to feel excited when opening the refrigerator and kitchen cabinets is to stock with some high quality basic ingredients. It is important that certain foods are organic, so go to your local health food store. Here is my beginning list:

Organic Olive Oil
Organic Butter
Sea Salts
Fresh Garlic
Cumin, Tumeric, Pepper Corns, Red Pepper Flakes
Grains, such as Quinoa, Basmati Rice, Whole Grain Pasta
Ezekiel Sprouted Grain Cereal
Cheese, favorites, as well as Greek Feta
Canned Black Beans, White Cannoli Beans, Kidney Beans
Greek Yoghurt
Fresh Organic Berries
Baby Spinach, Mescalen Greens
Cage-Free Eggs
Grass-Fed, Hormone-Free Meat (to be frozen)
Antibiotic-Free Chicken Breasts (to be frozen)
Fresh Greens, such as Broccoli, Spinach, Kale, Swiss Chard

  2. I agree Dr. B., good stuff to have. Nothing boxed with a bunch of ingredients that we can't pronounce.
